  4. Burnishing: After the plaster has partially dried, burnish it with a trowel to achieve a smooth, polished look.
  5. Practice Techniques: Before applying to walls, practice your technique on a board or small area to get a feel for the material and tools.

  3. Neglect Safety Precautions: Always wear protective gear, like gloves and masks, to avoid skin irritation and inhalation of dust.
  4. Overwork the Plaster: Overworking the plaster with the trowel can cause burn marks and affect the finish.
  5. Use Improper Base Coat: Ensure the base coat is suitable for Venetian plaster. In fact, improper base can affect adhesion and overall quality.
  6. Ignore Manufacturer’s Instructions: Always follow the specific instructions provided by the plaster manufacturer, as properties can vary between products.
  7. Forget to Test Color: Always test your color mix on a small, inconspicuous area or sample board to ensure it’s the shade you desire.

Remember, Venetian plaster is as much an art as it is a technique. Achieving a beautiful finish requires practice and attention to detail.
